MERN Stack Developer

As a MERN Stack Developer at Wits Innovation Lab, you will be part of a dynamic team driving innovation in the tech space. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain cutting-edge web applications using MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js. You will work closely with UI/UX designers to create user-friendly interfaces and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services to enhance application functionality. Your role will also involve optimizing application performance and scalability for high-traffic environments, managing deployments using Docker and other containerization tools, and participating in code reviews to ensure best practices and high-quality code. Additionally, you will troubleshoot and resolve application issues in a timely manner, contribute to the architecture and design of new features, and stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies. Key skills required for this role include proficiency in Node.js and React.js, experience in TypeScript and Docker, a strong understanding of MongoDB and Express.js, and experience in building microservices and serverless applications. Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes, knowledge of frontend technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript frameworks, and experience with version control systems, particularly Git, are also essential. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication and teamwork abilities are key attributes for success in this role.
