Lead Product Engineer - Senior MERN Stack Developer (5-7 Years)

Role Overview

The Lead Product Engineer will architect, design, and develop advanced applications and interfaces using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js), focusing on integrating AI features aligned with modern product company best practices.

Experience in software/system architecture is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, scalable user interfaces and backend systems using the MERN stack.
• Lead technical and design decisions for complex ReactJS/Node projects, mentoring senior associate product engineers.
• Architect, build, and deploy AI-powered features (using GPT, BERT, OpenAI/HuggingFace APIs, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
• Develop RESTful APIs, microservices, and real-time features (WebSockets).
• Conduct code reviews, ensure adherence to best practices, and drive technical excellence.
• Consult with product/design teams for user experience and innovation.
• Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines and DevOps integrations with Azure cloud services for product delivery.
• Conduct performance tests, implement unit/integration testing (Jest, Mocha, Cypress).
• Lead sprint planning/project scoping for timely feature delivery.

Qualifications

• 57 years’ experience in full-stack development with deep expertise in MERN technologies.
• Demonstrated experience integrating AI models, prompt engineering, and API consumption (OpenAI, HuggingFace, etc.).
• Excellent skills in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3.
• Proficiency with microservices, authentication (OAuth, JWT), and role-based access control.
• In-depth knowledge of Git, DevOps tools, CI/CD, Docker, cloud deployment.
• Experience mentoring, code reviewing, and leading cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Architecture experience (software/system design) is a strong plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building PWAs, implementing serverless functions, and working with JAMstack architectures.
• Previous work in SaaS/product companies, Agile methodology.
• Exposure to Python backends (FastAPI, Flask) is a plus.
