Merchandiser

The Merchandiser in Production Management within the Garment Industry based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, will be responsible for managing and coordinating garment production operations. As the Merchandiser, you will act as a liaison between the production team, suppliers of fabric and trims, quality control, buyers, and internal stakeholders. This entry-level position necessitates approximately 1 year of experience in the garment industry and strong computer proficiency, including hands-on experience with Genesis ERP/system. Your key responsibilities will include tracking factory production workflows, monitoring progress against Time & Action (T&A) plans, and identifying and resolving bottlenecks in production coordination. You will also be coordinating sample development, securing buyer approvals, and handing over samples to the production team. Additionally, you will assist in sourcing and tracking supplies, prepare purchase orders, and liaise with suppliers for timely delivery. Moreover, you will be responsible for preparing cost sheets, internal documentation, production reports, and ensuring accurate shipment instructions. Furthermore, you will support Quality Assurance processes by monitoring defects or buyer-specified tolerances and communicating with production and quality teams to maintain standards. You will operate the Genesis ERP system, generate reports, update inventory and order data, and troubleshoot system issues. Effective communication in English and Hindi with buyers, internal departments, and suppliers is essential, with knowledge of Kannada being beneficial. To qualify for this role, you should have around 1 year of experience in garment merchandising or production coordination, along with a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Textiles, Apparel, Fashion, or equivalent. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and experience with the Genesis ERP/system is required. Fluency in Hindi and English is mandatory, while knowledge of Kannada is preferred. The ideal age range for this position is between 25 to 40 years.
