Job Description – Urban/Regional Planner (8–10 Years’ Experience) Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Urban/Regional Planner with 8–10 years of professional experience in urban development, project planning, project formulation, feasibility study, designing and development, documentation and research work for ongoing projects. The ideal candidate will bring strategic insight, leadership capabilities, and proven expertise in delivering complex urban projects that align with sustainable development goals and future-ready city growth. Key Responsibilities Lead the team for preparation of master plans, zonal plans, town planning schemes, investment plans, city development strategies and frameworks. Provide expert inputs on policy formulation, zoning regulations, land-use management and sustainable urban development. Oversee large-scale urban planning projects from conception to execution. Mentor and guide junior planners, ensuring quality output and knowledge transfer. Coordinate with Central/State Govt Bodies and Urban Local Bodies, consultants and stakeholders for seamless project delivery. Anticipate and address urban challenges, proposing innovative, future-proof solutions. Conduct in-depth research, feasibility studies, and impact assessments for urban projects. Utilize GIS, data analytics and advanced planning tools for evidence-based decision-making. Evaluate environmental, social and economic implications of urban development initiatives. Engage with communities to ensure inclusive and participatory planning processes. Represent the organization in public forums, policy discussions and high-level meetings. Foster strong partnerships with industry leaders, academic institutions and government agencies. Qualifications & Experience Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, or related discipline. 8–10 years of demonstrated experience in urban/regional planning, preferably in large-scale or complex planning projects. Strong knowledge of planning legislation, development control regulations and sustainable urban development frameworks. Proficiency in GIS, CAD and advanced planning software. Excellent written, communication, negotiation and leadership skills. Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and deliver projects within time and budget. Candidates with Experience in master plans, zonal plans, town planning schemes, investment plans, city development strategies and frameworks, smart city projects, transit-oriented development and resilient infrastructure planning will be preferred Experience in engaging with Central/State Govt Bodies and Urban Local Bodies is desired.
