As a Medical Eligibility Verification (EV) Specialist in the Mental Health Department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate verification of insurance coverage for mental health services. Your responsibilities will include confirming insurance eligibility for various mental health treatments, maintaining up-to-date records, and collaborating with internal teams to address any discrepancies. Here is a detailed overview of the role: Key Responsibilities: - Verify Mental Health Insurance Eligibility: Confirm insurance coverage for mental health services such as therapy, counseling, and psychiatric care before treatment. - Document Verification Details: Accurately record all eligibility information into internal systems to facilitate smooth claim submissions. - Coordinate with Internal Teams: Collaborate with mental health providers, billing teams, and other departments to resolve eligibility-related issues promptly. - Ensure HIPAA Compliance: Maintain confidentiality and handle patient data in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. - Meet Key Metrics: Achieve productivity, accuracy, and quality targets related to insurance verification within specified timelines. Qualifications Required: - Experience: 6 months to 3 years in Medical Eligibility Verification, preferably in the mental health or behavioral health field. - Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. - Knowledge of US Healthcare and Mental Health Terminology: Understanding of mental health billing codes, insurance procedures, and services. - Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in documenting verification details and handling sensitive patient information. - Basic Computer Proficiency: Comfortable using basic computer applications, insurance portals, and billing systems. - Ability to Work Independently & in Teams: Self-driven with the capability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
