Medical Coding Trainer

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver instructor-led training on

  ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS

  coding across multiple medical specialties.
• Design and develop curriculum, training materials, case studies, and assessments aligned with industry standards and specialty requirements.
  
• Assess trainee performance through examinations, mock coding exercises, and structured feedback sessions.
  
• Stay current with updates to coding guidelines, payer policies, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  
• Mentor and guide trainees in preparation for professional certification exams such as

  CPC, CCS, COC, CIC

  , etc.
• Work closely with management to ensure training outcomes meet organizational and industry expectations.
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate degree in

  Life Sciences, Medical, Paramedical

  , or a related discipline.
• Professional certification from

  AAPC or AHIMA

  (CPC, CCS, COC, CIC preferred).
• Minimum

  5 to 8 years of hands-on medical coding experience

  , with at least

  12 years of training or teaching experience

  .
• In-depth knowledge of

  ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS

  , and specialty-specific coding guidelines.
• Strong communication, presentation, and mentoring skills.
