Job Title : Research Analyst (Agriculture / Horticulture) Location : Hyderabad Experience: 0-2 years (Freshers eligible) Job Type : Full-Time / (Internship - 6 Months – for interested candidates) Salary: Fixed + Travel Allowances Position Overview We are looking for a dedicated and energetic Research Analyst with a background in agriculture or horticulture to join our team. The primary function of this role is to support our large-scale image data collection efforts for building advanced crop health and disease identification models. The successful candidate will work directly in the field, visiting various fruit farms and field crop locations to gather high-quality image data. This role is crucial in supporting our technology team by assisting with the initial identification of crop diseases and stress factors. A key responsibility will be to help prepare detailed documentation and build a comprehensive knowledge base on different biotic (disease, pests) and abiotic (environmental, nutritional) stresses affecting crops. This position is ideal for a self-starter who is passionate about agriculture, and technology, and is willing to travel frequently to fields in nearby regions , often working independently. Key Responsibilities Field Data Collection: Actively travel to and operate within various farms and field locations (outside the base location, in nearby regions) to execute large-scale image and data collection plans. Disease Identification: Provide on-ground and in-office support to the technology team by helping to identify and label common crop diseases, pest infestations, and nutrient deficiencies from collected images. Documentation: Research and compile detailed information to create and maintain a knowledge base on a wide range of biotic and abiotic stresses in target crops. Data Quality: Ensure that all collected images and associated data (e.g., location, crop stage, suspected issue) are captured accurately and to the required standards. Collaboration: Work closely with the Senior Agriculture Specialist and the AI/ML team to provide context for the collected data and assist in the data annotation process. Logistics: Manage local-level logistics and planning for field visits to ensure efficient data collection. Required Qualifications & Skills Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant Pathology, or a closely related stream. Languages: Must be fluent in Telugu and English (Hindi is an added advantage). Field Readiness: Must be willing and physically able to travel extensively to agricultural fields and farms in nearby regions. This is a hands-on, in-field role. Core Knowledge: A strong foundational understanding of crop science, including common plant diseases, pests, and signs of abiotic stress. Personal Attributes: A highly motivated self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision. Must be reliable, diligent, and solution-oriented. Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using smartphones, digital cameras, and mobile applications for data collection and reporting. Documentation Skills: Ability to conduct research and clearly document findings for the team's knowledge base. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in agricultural extension work, farm advisory, or field research. Practical, hands-on experience in identifying crop diseases. Familiarity with the agricultural landscape and common crops of the Hyderabad and close-by areas. A valid driver's license and a willingness to drive to field locations.
