Medical Coding Specialist

As a Medical Coding Specialist at Statistics & Data Corporation (SDC), you will be responsible for coordinating the coding of terms for clinical trials. Your role will involve manually encoding medical terms, ensuring consistency in coding across projects, and communicating effectively with the coding team and Manager, Medical Coding. **Key Responsibilities:** - Manually encode medical terms not automatically coded by the data management system - Ensure consistency in coding terms within and across projects - Communicate timely and effectively with coding team and Manager, Medical Coding regarding any issues, risks, concerns, or technical needs - Contribute to and review Data Management Plans focusing on Coding Conventions - Provide input for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for coded term fields, when necessary - Offer coding rationale information to the project team upon request - Collaborate with Clinical Data Management and Clinical Programming staff for issue resolution and system changes - Adhere to SDC's quality system and data integrity & business ethics requirements - Perform other related duties as required - Maintain compliance with essential systems and processes at SDC **Qualifications Required:** - Working knowledge of clinical trials and the coding specialist role in the drug development process - Excellent organizational and communication skills - Technical skills including MedDRA, WHODrug Global, and Microsoft Office - Experience with Medidata Coder preferred - Certified MedDRA Coder (CMC) certification preferred - Ability to utilize WHODrug Insight - Ability to work effectively as part of a team **Additional Details About the Company:** SDC is committed to developing its employees by recognizing achievements, providing growth opportunities and career advancement, offering a flexible work schedule, engaging work culture, and employee benefits.
