Mechanical Lab Assistant

Job Location - Bhongir, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri (Dist), Telangana

The Mechanical Lab Assistant will support the daily functioning of the mechanical engineering laboratory by managing equipment, preparing materials, ensuring safety compliance, and assisting in experimental setups. The role requires technical proficiency, strong attention to detail, and the ability to support students and faculty during lab sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate, maintain, and calibrate mechanical lab equipment such as testing machines, measurement tools, and workshop instruments.
  • Prepare materials, samples, and components required for mechanical experiments. • Assist in setting up experimental rigs, machinery, and test setups before lab sessions. • Support faculty and students during practical classes, demonstrations, and project-based experiments. • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and consumables; ensure timely procurement. • Enforce laboratory safety protocols, including safe handling of tools, mechanical components, and chemicals used in mechanical labs. • Troubleshoot laboratory equipment and coordinate repair or servicing when needed. • Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and adherence to safety compliance within the lab environment.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Proficiency in handling mechanical equipment, tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical engineering concepts and laboratory procedures. • Knowledge of safety standards related to mechanical operations, tools, and chemical handling. • Ability to support experimental setups, testing procedures, and student activities. • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and technical aptitude. • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Prior experience in a mechanical workshop or engineering laboratory preferred. • Understanding of lab safety regulations and mechanical testing equipment.
