Job Description

Mechanical Fitter

Location:

Key Responsibilities

1. Equipment Maintenance (Routine & Preventive)

Carry out Preventive Maintenance Schedule (PMS) for ETP mechanical systems.
Inspect, lubricate, align, and tighten mechanical parts (pumps, blowers, agitators, valves, etc.).
Clean strainers, filters, and maintain mechanical seals, bearings, and couplings.
Record all maintenance activities in PMS logs and support ETP Incharge in maintenance planning.

2. Breakdown Maintenance

Attend and troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns quickly to reduce downtime.
Diagnose issues in pumps, valves, filter press, UF, and RO systems.
Replace worn-out mechanical parts and ensure proper testing before restarting.

3. Equipment Coverage

Maintain equipment including pumps (centrifugal, dosing, sludge, RO feed), HRSCC, Filter Press, UF & RO systems, air blowers, and gearboxes.

4. Installation & Commissioning Support

Assist in installation, alignment, and commissioning of new mechanical systems.
Support plant modifications and verify mechanical layouts and connections.

5. Housekeeping & Safety

Maintain a clean and organized workshop and equipment area.
Follow lockout-tagout (LOTO) and PPE safety procedures.
Report unsafe conditions or near-misses immediately.

Candidate Profile

ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or Fitter Trade.
2 To 6 years of maintenance experience in ETP / RO / UF / Industrial plants.
Strong knowledge of pumps, valves, piping systems, and preventive maintenance.
Ability to read mechanical drawings and P&IDs.
Team player with good problem-solving and safety awareness.
