Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Roaster Operation Support:

• Assist in monitoring and optimizing the performance of roaster equipment to maximize efficiency and zinc recovery.
• Collect and analyse process data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with process engineers and metallurgists to adjust roasting parameters and enhance performance.

2. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

• Support the development and implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance programs for roaster equipment.
• Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and process issues, performing necessary repairs to ensure minimal downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications.

3. Project Support:

• Assist in planning and executing engineering projects related to roaster upgrades, retrofits, and new installations.
• Participate in the development of project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure successful project completion.

4. Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations related to roaster operation and maintenance.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Ensure adherence to environmental regulations concerning emissions and waste management in the roasting process.

5. Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in roaster performance and efficiency.
• Stay updated with advancements in roaster technology and process engineering.
• Participate in training programs and professional development opportunities to enhance technical proficiency.

6. Documentation and Reporting:

• Prepare technical reports, process documentation, and project updates for management and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of roaster performance, maintenance activities, and engineering projects.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding technical issues and improvements.
