Mechanical Draftsman

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare

  fabrication drawings

  for:

• Atmospheric / low-pressure storage tanks

  (API 650 / IS 803)

• Scrubbers

  (venturi, packed bed, spray)

• Bag filters / dust collectors

• Cyclones, ducts, hoppers, stacks, dampers, and related equipment
• Develop

  General Arrangement (GA) drawings

  and

  equipment layout drawings

  .
• Prepare

  detail drawings

  for:
• Shells, cones, hoppers, stiffeners, supports
• Nozzles, manways, access doors
• Platforms, ladders, handrails, and walkways
• Prepare

  ducting layout drawings

  with supports and clearances.
• Generate

  Bill of Materials (BOM)

  and

  material take-offs

  .
• Incorporate inputs from:
• Process flow diagrams
• P&IDs
• Vendor drawings and specifications
• Revise drawings based on

  engineering, client, and site feedback

  .
• Ensure drawings comply with:
• Project specifications
• Fabrication practices
• Relevant codes and standards
• Maintain proper

  drawing revisions, numbering, and documentation control

  .

Software & Technical Skills

• Proficient in

  AutoCAD (2D)

• Basic exposure to

  3D modeling tools

  (SolidWorks / Inventor / E3D added advantage)
• Good knowledge of:
• Fabrication drawings and shop detailing
• Welding symbols and fabrication tolerances
• Sheet metal and plate work
• Familiarity with:
• API 650 (tanks)
• IS standards related to tanks, ducting, and fabrication

Qualification

• Diploma / ITI in

  Mechanical Engineering

  or equivalent
• AutoCAD certification preferred

Experience Requirements

• 2 to 3 years

  of relevant experience in:
• Storage tank fabrication drawings
• Scrubbers, bag filters, and pollution control equipment
• EPC or fabrication shop environment

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong attention to detail and drafting accuracy
• Good understanding of fabrication and erection sequences

Ability to handle multiple drawings and revisions
