Job Overview

Lead and manage the mechanical design function within automation projects, specifically focusing on Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) used in testing and assembly applications. Ensure high standards in design, execution, and collaboration across technical and cross-functional teams

• .Extensive hands-on experience in Special Purpose Machine (SPM) design for automation systems, including a wide range of testing and assembly machines.
• Strong engineering fundamentals with deep, practical knowledge of GD&T, pneumatics, hydraulics, and component selection (ball screws, LM rails, servos).
• Proficient in 3D design software such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and PLM platforms.
• Proven experience in executing projects involving roller belt conveyors, robotic automation systems, hydraulic/mechanical presses, and gantry systems.
• Practical exposure to greasing, dispensing, and welding processes as part of machine integration.
• Capable of leading Design Approval Processes (DAP) with customers, ensuring first-time-right approvals with minimal or no revisions.
• Ensures machine designs are compliant with ergonomic guidelines and relevant safety standards.
• Skilled in calculating cycle time and evaluating Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Demonstrated ability to achieve cost savings within project budgets through design and process optimization.
• Proficient in developing Micro Plans and conducting engineering evaluations including FMEA, Risk Assessments, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Basic understanding of CE compliance requirements and component selection standards.
