Job Description

As a Material Analyst, your role will involve being a polymer material expert, focusing on selecting the right materials and processes for plastic, rubber, adhesive, foam, and gaskets used in 2W & 3W components for both ICE & Electric vehicles. Your responsibilities will include: - Working on new technology projects related to polymers, composites, and paints, and collaborating with suppliers and research institutes to explore innovative technology ideas. - Conducting polymer parts testing and clearance using material characterization techniques such as FTIR, DSC, TGA, XRD, SEM/EDS, as well as mechanical testing like tensile, compressive, shear, and peel strength measurements for all new products. You will also be responsible for failure analysis of polymer parts to identify root causes for both ICE & EV components. - Coordinating with design teams to gather precise material requirements to ensure the first-time-right quality of developed parts. - Preparing reports for new product development and failure analysis to drive continuous improvement. - Working on enhancing the aesthetics of vehicles by focusing on the retained newness of polymer painted and unpainted parts. - Developing and releasing polymer material and process standards, as well as generating polymer material properties as per requirements. - Generating and implementing cost reduction ideas. Additionally, the job requires the following qualifications: - Educational Qualification: B.Tech/M.Tech in Materials Engineering or Polymer Science. - Work Experience: 7-9 years. In this role, you will need to demonstrate functional competencies such as product knowledge, product engineering & development, automotive fundamentals, product awareness, polymer material knowledge, problem-solving/failure analysis, manufacturing processes, and polymer material characterization. Moreover, the ideal candidate should exhibit behavioral competencies including basic communication skills, collaborative teamwork, interpersonal effectiveness & personal leadership, rigor in job/work completion, customer centricity/focus, and time management. Leadership competencies expected from you include leading innovation & diverse teams, adaptability, and strategic thinking.
