Manufacturing Engineering Head (ME) Aerospace Precision

Job Purpose

Manufacturing Engineering Head

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Engineering Leadership

• Lead and manage the

  Manufacturing Engineering (ME) team

  , including process engineers, CNC programmers, and NPD engineers
• Define and implement

  manufacturing engineering strategies

  aligned with business and customer requirements
• Drive

  standardization of processes, SOPs, and best practices

  across machining operations

Process Planning & Industrial Engineering

• Oversee

  process planning, routing, operation sequencing, and cycle time optimization

• Develop and validate

  manufacturing processes for aerospace precision components

• Ensure effective implementation of

  PFMEA, control plans, work instructions, and process validation

• Improve

  machine utilization, productivity, and OEE

NPD & First Article Development

• Lead

  New Product Development (NPD)

  activities from RFQ handover to production release
• Ensure successful

  First Article Inspection (FAI)

  as per AS9100 and customer requirements
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for

  prototypes, pilot lots, and process qualification

CNC / VMC Programming & Technology

• Provide technical leadership in

  CNC, VMC, and multi-axis (3/4/5-axis) machining strategies

• Review and approve

  CNC programs, tooling selection, and machining parameters

• Drive adoption of

  advanced machining techniques, automation, and digital manufacturing

Tooling, Fixtures & Special Processes

• Oversee

  jig, fixture, gauge, and cutting tool planning and development

• Approve

  tooling concepts and cost-effective solutions

• Ensure alignment with

  special processes

  such as heat treatment, surface treatment, and coating (NADCAP awareness)

Cost Optimization & P&L Support

• Support

  estimation and costing teams

  with manufacturing feasibility and process inputs
• Drive

  cost reduction initiatives, value engineering, and productivity improvements

• Analyze manufacturing performance and support

  P&L improvement and margin enhancement

Quality, Compliance & Aerospace Standards

• Ensure full compliance with

  AS9100, ISO 9001, customer-specific aerospace standards

• Support internal and external audits, customer visits, and regulatory inspections
• Ensure robust

  documentation, traceability, and change management (ECN/ECR)

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with

  Production, Quality, SCM, Planning, Finance, and Sales teams

• Support customer technical discussions and manufacturing capability presentations
• Act as a key technical interface for

  aerospace & defence customers

Required Qualifications

• BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline
• Post-graduate qualification or certification in

  Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering

  is an advantage

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong expertise in

  Aerospace Precision Manufacturing

• Hands-on experience with

  CNC, VMC, and multi-axis machining

• Deep knowledge of

  process planning, PFMEA, control plans, and FAI

• Proficiency in

  AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CAM software

• Strong understanding of

  AS9100, ISO 9001, aerospace documentation & compliance

• Leadership, team management, and decision-making skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities

• Manufacturing efficiency and productivity (OEE, cycle time reduction)
• On-time delivery and production readiness
• First-time-right FAI and process validation success rate
• Cost reduction and value engineering contribution
• Audit compliance and zero major non-conformities
