Manufacturing Engineer (Controls & Automation)

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Caterpillar Inc, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing processes and systems utilized in the manufacturing sector. Your expertise will be instrumental in the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge machines and manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities: - Controls & Automation Engineering - Design, develop, and maintain PLC programs for various machines and systems. - Engineer VFDs, PLC panels, and electrical control systems. - Select and integrate protection devices, instruments, meters, drives, sensors, and safety systems. - Stay informed about the latest automation trends and advancements in PLC technology. - Manufacturing Process Optimization - Strategize and execute factory layouts to maximize efficiency. - Develop and refine assembly processes for New Product Introduction. - Spearhead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives. - Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and cost implications. - Project Management & Equipment Integration - Take charge of projects involving new equipment installation and process enhancements. - Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and ergonomic standards. - Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth system integration. Qualification Required: - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field. - Possess 12-15 years of experience in controls engineering, PLC programming, and automation. - Proficient in PLC programming languages and logic development for Special Purpose Machines. - Thorough understanding of electrical and control systems, automation, and robotics. - Capable of conducting risk assessments and troubleshooting effectively. - Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and SAP ERP. - Strong communication and collaboration skills.,
