Job Description

You will be responsible for designing and developing internal gear shifting systems and fork mechanisms. Your key responsibilities will include: - Providing robust solutions for failures/issues through strong problem-solving skills, root cause analysis, and decision making. - Presenting technical decks to the management and cross-functional teams with strong communication skills. - Coordinating for validations and testing. - Releasing prototype & production intent designs in PLM Innovia/Teamcenter, ensuring compliance with best practices, function, assembly requirements, and serviceability requirements. - Participating in Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) Workshops to meet cost targets. - Analyzing FEA simulation results and suggesting improvements in designs. - Executing global localization/product design and development activities for subsystems from RFQ phase till SOP. - Monitoring APQP, PPAP practices, and engineering change management. - Validating component specifications during each project phase. - Supporting the program team to achieve milestones in terms of cost and on-time deliverables. - Communicating design risks, related changes, and impacts to all cross-functional teams. - Participating in supplier technical reviews with cross-functional teams. - Performing design calculations. Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering discipline. Essential skills: - Graduate degree in mechanical/automotive engineering discipline. - System knowledge focusing on manual transmission shifting system, forks. - 5-8 years of experience in manual transmission design and development. - Strong process knowledge of casting, stamping, forging, machining, injection molding. - Good knowledge of materials and heat treatment processes. - Sound knowledge of APQP and PPAP processes. - Hands-on experience in tools like CATIA/Nx. - Strong problem-solving skills. - Excellent presentation skills. - Experience with PLM tools such as Innovia/Teamcenter. - Interpersonal skills. - Willingness to travel to supplier places within India.
