The Opportunity: Manager/Sr.Manager Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), Maharashtra

This is not just another M&E role. As Manager / Sr. Manager for M&E, you will be responsible for driving the monitoring, evaluation, and learning agenda for RightWalk's programs in Maharashtra. You will ensure that program activities are tracked systematically, insights are generated from data, and evidence-based decisions inform strategic planning.

You will manage state-level data systems, coordinate with program staff, external consultants, implementing partners, and government stakeholders, and work closely with the State and Central Leadership to ensure high-quality implementation. If you are energized by purpose, thrive in dynamic environments, and want your work to directly influence the success of social programs, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Implement M&E Frameworks

  • Develop a comprehensive M&E framework, including indicators, data collection tools, and reporting protocols.
  • Ensure monitoring and evaluation processes are embedded into program design and implementation.
  • Collaborate with program managers to align M&E efforts with organizational goals.
  • Continuously refine frameworks to improve data quality, relevance, and usability.

2.Data Collection, Management & Analysis

  • Coordinate and oversee data collection across programs, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality through regular validation and collaboration with government counterparts, partners, and field teams.
  • Manage and continually update performance dashboards, databases, and MIS to reflect real-time progress against program indicators and objectives.
  • Analyze both quantitative and qualitative data to generate insights that guide program improvement and strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct data integrity checks, ensure adherence to established M&E protocols, and standardize data management processes across teams.
  • Translate data into actionable reports and narratives that clearly communicate impact, trends, and learnings to internal and external stakeholders.

3.Monitoring, Reporting & Visualization

  • Track program performance against key indicators, providing timely and accurate reports to senior management.
  • Prepare narrative and statistical reports for internal teams, government partners, and donors.
  • Support donor reporting requirements and participate in donor meetings as required.
  • Develop dashboards and visualizations to make data-driven insights accessible to stakeholders.

4. Capacity Building & Knowledge Sharing

  • Train program staff and implementing partners on M&E concepts, methodologies, and tools.
  • Provide technical support to teams for the effective implementation of M&E processes.
  • Promote a culture of learning, evidence-based decision-making, and continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated on emerging M&E practices and sectoral trends, continuously learning and sharing new insights and approaches with the team.

5. Evaluation & Learning

  • Lead periodic internal and external evaluations to assess program outcomes, relevance, and long-term impact.
  • Translate evaluation findings into actionable insights, ensuring they directly inform strategy, design, and policy recommendations.
  • Build feedback loops between data, field insights, and leadership teams to enable adaptive program management.
  • Champion a culture of reflection and learning - institutionalizing practices that continuously enhance program effectiveness and innovation.

Who Will Thrive in This Role -

  • You bring 5+ years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, with 23 years in mid-senior management roles.
  • You have strong skills in both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, with experience in DHIS, ONA, GBVIMS, SPSS, Tableau, MS Excel, and similar tools.
  • You are proactive, results-driven, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • You can communicate complex data insights clearly and effectively, both in writing and presentations.
  • You have professional or working proficiency in Marathi, enabling effective engagement with government and community stakeholders in Maharashtra.
  • You are entrepreneurial, resourceful, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • You thrive in evidence-based, learning-oriented, and impact-driven environments, and are motivated by social justice, equity, and systemic change.
