Manager, Software Development - Java

Role Overview: You will be joining TMUS India Private Limited, a subsidiary of T-Mobile US, Inc., as a Software Development Manager. In this role, you will lead a team of backend engineers to build and scale a document management platform. Your primary focus will be on delivering secure, cloud-native systems that are resilient, scalable, and aligned with enterprise AI and data strategies. This position requires strong technical leadership, operational ownership, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams globally. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and mentor a team of engineers in a high-performance, inclusive environment - Own team delivery, development plans, and foster a continuous improvement culture - Collaborate with Product, Architecture, and global partners to define the technical roadmap - Deliver secure, scalable backend services in alignment with enterprise priorities - Drive operational excellence and provide support for production systems - Make architectural decisions, define code quality standards, and ensure system resiliency - Manage multiple projects, identify risks, and ensure on-time delivery - Promote agile practices, CI/CD, observability, and DevOps best practices Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (Master's degree preferred) - 4-7 years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role - Proven success in managing global engineering teams and delivering production systems - Deep expertise in microservices architecture, distributed systems, and backend design - Proficiency in Kubernetes, Java, Python, SQL, Splunk, and Grafana - Hands-on experience with GitLab/GitHub CI/CD, monitoring, and operational tooling - Strong communication and leadership skills across different functions - Background in document workflows, compliance, or enterprise platforms - Exposure to AI/ML or intelligent document systems is a strong advantage Additional Company Details: TMUS Global Solutions is a world-class technology powerhouse that focuses on accelerating the global digital transformation of the company.
