Manager Software Development - C/C++ Development

As a Manager of Software Development at AMD, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative solutions, implementing software features, launching new products, and enhancing the quality of existing software. Your contributions will be focused on the "Vivado" Design Suite software development team, which is a comprehensive IDE for designing and implementing hardware on FPGAs and adaptive SoCs. This role provides an opportunity to delve into various aspects of software engineering and product development. Your leadership will be essential in planning software development projects, creating documentation, and delivering software products to both internal and external customers. Interaction with global counterparts is crucial for effective project delivery. Key Responsibilities: - Participate in planning project deliverables and play a critical role in execution - Lead software design, development, verification, and product release processes - Conduct individual goal planning and evaluation following AMD policies - Ensure team health and morale - Foster the growth of engineering skills within the team - Address critical issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams - Provide regular management updates and lead brainstorming sessions Preferred Experience: - Hands-on experience in software engineering, development, or architectural leadership - Proficiency in software fundamentals - 12+ years of experience with strong C/C++ programming skills and knowledge of operating systems - Desired expertise in embedded programming - Demonstrated success in delivering software on time with high quality and achieving premium solutions - Track record of planning and delivering complex system software products - Experience managing multiple projects with competing priorities - Strong project management skills including scheduling, budgeting, and risk management - Disciplined problem-solving approach and ability to make business decisions in a technical setting - Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills - Self-motivated with multitasking capabilities Academic Credentials: - B.Tech or M.Tech degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering - MBA is a plus Please note that the benefits offered by AMD are described separately under "AMD benefits at a glance.",
