Manager / Senior Manager - IPR Formulations

• Should have in-depth knowledge of US Hatch-Waxman law & practice; should be knowledgeable in US patent litigation aspects and applicable case laws,
• Expected to have required knowledge of patent opposition and litigation procedure in ex-US countries e.g. Europe, Australia etc. Should be aware of IP system and litigation process in countries such as South Africa, Latin America & GCC.
• Expected to have in-depth knowledge about data and market exclusivities, patent term extensions, supplementary protection certificates in various countries,
• Project selection acumen: IP diligence to assist the US and Ex-US portfolio/business team in project selection process. Involves extensive information gathering, evaluating IP scenarios and coming up with IP approaches for the best possible launch scenarios in countries of interest
• Product opportunity identification approach: Finding IP-led product opportunities. Identifying business potential product opportunities based on the IP situation in different countries,
• In-depth understanding of generating potential patent invalidation grounds: Identifying possible grounds to challenge constraining patents and assisting the legal team in building arguments.

• Non-Infringement analysis: Proactive is suggesting possible and practical designs around approaches for constraining formulation/process patents,
• Protecting and de-risking in-house inventions/ideas through patent filings and disclosures,

• Should maintain & monitor a thorough tracking mechanism for timely IP updates and other competitive intelligence updates,

• Proficient in searching skills in various US and EX-US databases, including official country-specific databases and third-party databases such as Scifinder, Ark, IPD, Orbit etc.,

Preferred candidate profile

An M.Pharmacy degree in Pharmaceutics from a reputed institution is preferred.

Candidate should have a minimum of 14 years of experience in the IPR - Formulations department in a reputed organisation.

Managerial & mentoring skills: Should be able to lead & mentor a team of 4-5 members.

Excellent communication skills expected; should be proactive in interacting with cross-functional teams.
