Job Description

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cost analysis and control

  • Track expenses:

    Collect and analyze data on costs related to materials, labor, and overhead for specific products, processes, and projects.
  • Identify variances:

    Compare actual costs with budgeted or standard costs to find discrepancies, determine their causes, and suggest corrective actions.
  • Implement cost-saving measures:

     Use analysis to identify inefficiencies and recommend strategies to reduce costs and boost profitability. 

Budgeting and forecasting

  • Prepare budgets:

     Help create detailed cost budgets and forecasts for different departments or projects.
  • Evaluate performance:

     Compare actual financial performance against budgets to assess efficiency and pinpoint areas for improvement. 

Inventory valuation

  • Manage inventory costs:

     Track inventory levels and determine the accurate cost of inventory on hand, which is crucial for financial reporting.
  • Assess obsolescence:

     Calculate the reserve for slow-moving and obsolete inventory to ensure it is properly valued. 

Pricing decisions

  • Support pricing strategies:

    Provide cost-based data to help management set profitable and competitive prices for products and services.
  • Calculate margins:

     Determine the gross margin and contribution margin for products to assess their profitability. 

Financial reporting and compliance

  • Prepare cost reports:

     Generate regular reports on production costs, profitability, and variances for internal management.
  • Support audits:

     Assist internal and external auditors by providing detailed reports on cost structures and inventory.
  • Ensure compliance:

     Adhere to relevant cost accounting standards and financial reporting standards. 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • CWA with an experience of 5 10 years
  • Should possess accounting, analytical, budget management, and financial modelling skills as well as strong business acumen.
  • Familiar with common productivity tools and various financial and reporting software.
  • Relevant soft skills include leadership, time management, collaboration, communication, and presentation. 
  • Hands-on experience in finance, banking, taxation, lending, investments, private equity, real estate finance, insurance, and other related fields
  • Experience in creating and presenting financial reports to various stakeholders.
