Manager - Retail Credit

Role Overview: You will be responsible for underwriting mortgage business and managing the portfolio in the assigned branch/location. This includes reviewing and assessing a broad range of complex loan applications, conducting personal discussions with customers to establish creditworthiness, and maintaining various MIS reports related to the portfolio. Key Responsibilities: - Review and assess loan applications within defined guidelines and make decisions or recommend for approval to higher authorities. - Underwrite proposals as per policies and procedures to meet agreed SLAs and manage business volumes. - Conduct personal discussions with customers to establish creditworthiness and ensure completion of credit/KYC documents and verifications through telephonic, field, and collateral visits. - Assess income to obligation ratios, loan to value ratios, and understand the impact on loan performance over long tenures. - Maintain Portfolio MIS, Delinquency MIS, and other operations-related MIS of the cluster and provide regular reports. - Build effective relationships with third parties to facilitate the best outcomes for clients. - Handle client queries, overcome challenges, and strive for continuous process improvement. - Review credit proposals to identify industry, business, financial, and management risks. - Ensure collateral and other credit risk mitigation to support decision-making on credit proposals. - Enable quick turnaround time for credit lending proposals for mortgage business in coordination with the sales team. - Conduct ongoing reviews of credit exposures to ensure bankability. - Facilitate critical review and documentation of proposals and monitor client & collateral creditworthiness from pre-sanction to post-disbursement phases. - Manage the credit underwriting function of the branch and ensure quick turnaround of credit lending proposals in liaison with credit analysts and sales team. - Follow up and ensure recovery of quick mortality cases between 12 - 18 MOV. Qualification Required: - Graduate, Masters/Post Graduate Certifications: - CA/MBA (Preferable),
