Manager Programs - Local Democracy and Welfare Rights

As a Programme Manager in Local Democracy and Welfare Rights, your role involves supporting organizations focused on local democracy, decentralised governance, access to rights, and participation in local governing mechanisms. You will work with grassroots collectives to strengthen people's institutions, elected gram panchayats, and build localised mechanisms for vibrant democratic processes. Additionally, you will create awareness and knowledge among partner organizations on related subject matters through various initiatives. **Key Responsibilities:** - Conduct scoping and programmatic due diligence of organizations. - Review completed proposals to ensure clear communication of the organization's story. - Engage in dialogues with partner organizations to understand the effects of their engagement. - Guide organizations in budget preparation and support the finance team with budget review and financial due diligence. - Lead the grant-making process for assigned organizations and ensure compliance with Foundation guidelines. - Manage the grant management process system throughout the grant lifecycle. **Qualifications Required:** - Good understanding of local democracy, welfare programs, and rights-based initiatives. - Experience in organizations working on local governance, rural decentralization, entitlement programs, and access issues preferred. - Experience in grant making, grant management, program budgeting, and monitoring advantageous. - Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree desirable. - Significant and long-lasting contributions in relevant work areas. - Self-motivated, creative, and initiative-driven. - Willingness to travel extensively for work. - Substantial knowledge of organizational and project management. - Ability to work independently or collaboratively with minimal supervision. - 8-15 years of experience in the sector.
