This position requires a passionate and technology-driven candidate to manage the product delivery of Wolters Kluwer Passport enterprise legal management SaaS product. You will be expected to challenge the status quo, drive innovation, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams. Your role will demand very strong technical skills in software development and a proven track record of delivering products to the market. Your day-to-day activities will involve working across multiple work streams, overseeing the performance of team leads and individual developers, and ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery. Additionally, you will assist in planning and estimating work, understanding requirements and desired functionality, and crafting technical solutions to deliver the desired features. Reporting directly to the Director of Product Software Engineering for Passport, this role is crucial to the continued growth of the product and business unit within Wolters Kluwer. As part of your responsibilities, you are expected to have an obsessive focus on customer experience and the continual delivery of value. You should effectively lead to instill trust, empower team members, focus on business outcomes, and encourage a learning culture. It is essential to foster a DevOps culture to ensure efficient and automated building, testing, deployment, and monitoring of applications. Managing a team of 5-10+ engineers, you will be accountable for on-time product delivery with superior quality. Staying updated on industry best practices and relevant technologies is a key aspect of your role, along with monitoring software engineering trends to influence solutions for Passport. You will play a pivotal role in designing and developing new features, modifications, and enhancements to current products and tools. Collaborating with cross-functional leads and stakeholders, you will oversee various areas of development including planning, estimation, risk mitigation, delivery, and support. Conducting performance appraisals, providing coaching/mentoring, producing high-quality software, participating in continuous improvement efforts, and mentoring technical managers and engineers will also be part of your duties. As for the requirements, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in engineering (B.E. or B.Tech.), Computer Science, or Engineering with equivalent credentials, while a Master's degree is highly preferred. With at least 10 years of overall experience, including a minimum of 7 years in Java front-end technologies such as React/Angular, you should have at least 3 years of experience managing small to medium-sized teams. Experience in web development, client-side scripting languages, GIT-based source control systems, building Azure native applications, and agile methodologies is essential. Strong problem-solving skills, strategic thinking abilities, and experience in leading teams in researching new technologies are also required.
