Educational Qualification:

B.E. / B.Tech or Diploma / PG Diploma in Footwear Technology

Experience:

Additional Requirements:

  • Proven experience in handling Injection Moulding Machines
  • Sound knowledge of footwear materials, mould setting, process parameters, and cycle time optimization.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to handle large teams, including contract manpower.

Purpose of the Position (Job Summary)

To lead and manage all production activities of the Injection Moulding Plant with a focus on achieving output, quality, and cost targets. The incumbent will ensure smooth execution of the production plan, implement process improvements, and collaborate closely with PD, QA, Maintenance, and Planning teams to develop new articles, optimize machine utilization, and meet customer requirements.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Execution

  • Prepare and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules in line with Marketing and PD requirements.
  • Coordinate with Planning and Compound Mixing sections for timely availability of material and moulds.
  • Ensure maximum machine uptime and adherence to production targets and quality standards.
  • Monitor cycle time, productivity, and scrap generation; implement corrective actions as needed.

2. Mould Trials & Article Development

  • Coordinate with the Product Development (PD) and R&D teams for new article trials.
  • Ensure mould fitting, shot setting, compound calibration, and colour matching as per specifications.
  • Document trial results, suggest improvements, and validate mould and compound suitability before bulk production.

3. Process Optimization & Quality Assurance

  • Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) for moulding operations.
  • Ensure process consistency and product conformity through periodic quality checks.
  • Work with QA, PD, and Maintenance teams to address defects, colour variation, or dimensional issues.

4. Manpower Management

  • Plan, deploy, and supervise the workforce (permanent and contractual) for round-the-clock operations.
  • Train operators and helpers on machine operation, 5S, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain discipline, motivation, and productivity within the team.

5. Maintenance & Housekeeping

  • Coordinate with the Maintenance team to ensure periodic preventive maintenance of machines and moulds.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in line with 5S and EHS standards.

6. Documentation & Reporting

  • Submit accurate and timely production reports to the Plant Head and Head Office (Daily / Weekly / Monthly).
  • Maintain mould history cards, downtime records, and production logs.
  • Track production variances and recommend improvements in efficiency and resource utilization.

  • Expertise in operating and troubleshooting EVA / PVC / PU Injection Moulding Machines
  • Knowledge of mould design,compound formulation, and injection process parameters
  • Experience in article trials, mould validation, and scale-up to production
