Job Description

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the woven garment merchandising function by handling buyer accounts, ensuring timely execution of orders, driving cost negotiations, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining strong relationships with buyers to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Buyer Management & Communication

    • Act as the primary point of contact for international and domestic buyers.
    • Understand buyer requirements, product specifications, quality standards, and timelines.
    • Handle product development, costing, sampling, and approvals.
  2. Order Execution & Coordination

    • Plan and monitor the entire order process from sampling to shipment.
    • Coordinate with sourcing, production, quality, logistics, and other departments to ensure smooth order flow.
    • Track order status, resolve issues, and ensure on-time delivery.
  3. Costing & Negotiation

    • Prepare detailed cost sheets and negotiate prices with buyers.
    • Monitor cost efficiency while maintaining product quality and delivery timelines.
  4. Team Management

    • Lead and mentor a team of merchandisers/executives.
    • Allocate responsibilities, review progress, and ensure team productivity.
  5. Product Development

    • Work with design and sampling teams to develop new products based on buyer trends and seasonal requirements.
    • Suggest fabric and trims to buyers, keeping in mind cost and lead-time constraints.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Graduate / Postgraduate in

    Textile/Fashion/Apparel Merchandising

    or related field.
  • 812 years of experience in garment merchandising, with significant exposure to woven garments.
  • Prior experience in managing international buyer accounts and leading a merchandising team.
