Job Title:

Qualification & Experience:

  • Qualification:

    B.E. / B.Tech /Diploma in Mechanical/ Production/Industrial Engineering
  • Experience:

    12 -20 years of experience in mechanical maintenance of rolling mills

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of manual rolling mill components (rolls, gearboxes, pinions, bearings, spindles, etc.)
  • Expertise in mechanical diagnostics, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA)
  • Hands-on experience with hot rolling mill maintenance, Shearing, Roll-Shop, EOT, Furnace & Band saw, Process & Stretching and Straightening
  • Ability to manage manpower, materials, and mechanical workflows efficiently
  • Strong leadership, team handling, and inter-department coordination skills
  • Knowledge of TPM, 5S, and safety practices in a rolling mill environment

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the mechanical maintenance of manual rolling mills (10", 18", and 28" -3Hi mills), ensuring equipment reliability, minimal downtime, and continuous production through effective preventive and breakdown maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance Planning & Execution:

  • Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules in SAP for 10", 18", and 28" 3Hi manual rolling mills consists of Gas fired BRF, Mill drives pinion stands, tilting tables, cooling bed with Hot saws etc.
  • Lead breakdown failure analysis and corrective/Preventive actions to ensure for quick restoration of equipment.
  • Monitor and optimize maintenance costs without compromising on safety or quality.

2. Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead a team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians across all three mills.
  • Ensure proper training and skill development of the maintenance workforce.
  • Promote a culture of safety, discipline, and continuous improvement.

3. Spare Management & Vendor Coordination:

  • Ensure critical spares availability through effective inventory management.
  • Liaise with vendors and OEMs for specialized equipment repairs, AMC, and procurement.

4. Shutdown / Project & Modification Work:

  • Execute Major Shutdowns, capex projects, mill upgrades, and modifications for performance improvement.
  • Implement improvements in mechanical systems to increase mill efficiency and reduce downtime.

5. Compliance & Documentation:

  • Maintain documentation as per ISO/IMS standards related to maintenance activities like PM records, BD records, History books for critical equipments
  • Ensure statutory compliance related to equipment maintenance and inspections.
