Job Description

You will be responsible for various aspects of assurance engagements at BDO India Services Private Limited. Your role will involve performing testing procedures such as substantive and controls testing, vouching, verification, etc. You will provide necessary support to the team manager on assurance engagement formalities and handle areas and work allocated, including testing and relevant assurance procedures. It will be your responsibility to prepare assurance work papers, ensuring compliance with firm policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. As a part of your responsibilities, you will manage and supervise junior team members, acting as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the team with the client in terms of data flow, communication, coordination, and discussions. You will also be required to coordinate with internal and external teams, including client personnel, for information/data, and support the team on standardization of processes, documentation, analysis of technical issues, and research solutions. Additionally, you will assist the team manager in project management, preparing status updates, compiling requirements lists, and participating in meetings with various teams, contributing to the areas and responsibilities handled. It will be essential for you to understand business and industry issues/trends and ensure the timely delivery of working papers as per defined timelines. Furthermore, you should demonstrate knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, keeping up to date with new pronouncements relating to Ind AS. Your ownership and accountability will extend to delivering all aspects of the assurance engagement from start to finish. You will be responsible for front-ending and managing the internal and external quality review process for respective engagements and deliverables. Collaboration with teams, including experts and specialists involved in supporting the delivery of assurance engagements, will be crucial. Operational matters such as billing, collections, efficiency, optimal utilization of efforts and resources, monitoring engagement budgets, etc., will fall under your responsibility. It is expected that you proactively take full responsibility for documentation and guide/monitor junior resources of the team.,
