Manager, Applied AI Engineering

As a Manager, AI Engineering at our company, you will lead a team of Applied AI Engineers to design and deliver product enhancements for AI products. You will collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Python Engineers, and Product Management to ensure the successful delivery of product features. Your responsibilities will include staying updated on the latest AI/ML research and technologies to evaluate their applicability to business problems, as well as overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of AI features, from ideation to deployment and monitoring. **Key Responsibilities:** - Understand complex business problems and implement secure, scalable, and robust product features for AI products. - Take ownership of product features, provide bug fixes, write tests, and ensure they work well at cloud scale. - Lead technical initiatives independently towards planned outcomes. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver product features. - Stay informed about the latest AI/ML research and technologies. - Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of AI features. **People Management Responsibilities:** - Provide technical and career mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning. - Manage and guide a team of AI Engineers, including performance evaluations and skill development. - Facilitate effective collaboration within the team and across stakeholders. - Promote a positive team environment, resolve conflicts, and support team engagement. - Support resource planning, workload distribution, and succession planning. - Act as a point of escalation for team-related challenges. **Qualifications:** - Experience of 12-16 years with at least 4 years in AI/ML-focused roles and 2+ years in a leadership capacity. - Exposure to Agile methodologies and DevOps practices. - Expertise in the Microsoft technology stack (ASP.NET MVC, Web API, SQL Server). - Good knowledge of Client-side scripting JavaScript, jQuery, Kendo, ReactJS. - Familiarity with AI services and LLMs for delivering solutions. - Understanding of responsible AI practices, model interpretability, and ethical AI considerations. - Knowledge of Python and data engineering tools, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and design patterns. - Excellent communication skills and experience with non-functional requirements.
