Maintenance Supervisor

Role & responsibilities

• supervise and coordinate the work of maintenance technicians (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, biomedical support, etc.)
  
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of hospital equipment, systems, and infrastructure.
  
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and building regulations.
  
• Maintain records of maintenance schedules, service logs, and work orders.
  
• Liaise with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services.
  
• Monitor the performance of utilities systems (generators, HVAC, water, electrical) and initiate corrective action as needed.
  
• Support emergency response systems (fire alarms, sprinkler systems, backup generators).
  
• Train and mentor maintenance team members to ensure high-quality service and adherence to protocols.
  
• Manage maintenance budget and inventory of supplies, tools, and spare parts.
  
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of facility systems and report deficiencies to the Facilities Manager.
  

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related technical field.
  
• Minimum 5 years of experience in facility maintenance, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
  
• Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  
• Strong knowledge of building systems, equipment maintenance, and healthcare facility standards.
  
• Familiarity with healthcare-specific regulations and accreditation standards (e.g., NABH, JCI).
  
• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
  
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
