Maintenance Manager - TPI Avadi

Role & responsibilities

This Role Holder's subordinates are responsible for the overall mechanical & Electrical maintenance of equipment and involves a gamut of activities including taking appropriate actions to reduce frequent breakdowns, adherence to preventive maintenance schedule, cost control in consumables stores items, maintain mechanical spares in good condition with history card, ensuring team participation in Kaizen, SGA & CFT, adherence to equipment norms, maintain 5S, adhere to SHE compliance and improve OEE in order to maintain efficient machines in the work areas and ensure the availability of equipment to meet the production with quality requirements on time

Preferred candidate profile

1. Follow the best practices from TPM to control mechanical related frequent breakdowns, ensure adherence to preventive maintenance schedule as per AMC (Annual Maintenance Calendar), review history cards, provide inputs to improve the equipment design, ensure the availability of critical spares and increase the availability of equipment to increase OEE

2. Control the cost of mechanical maintenance by closely monitoring the quality of preventive maintenance, practice of autonomous maintenance by shop floor associates, maintain inventoy of consumables, spares and tools and reduce in breakdown maintenance and also motivate team members to contribute Kaizen, SGA & CFT to manage the cost of mechanical maintenance

3. Monitor & control mechanical related project activities as per project plan and establish safe work environment through a focus on EMS & OHSAS and proper safety controls on equipment (safety interlock systems) by coordination with safety and improve ergonomics of people working in the shop floor

4. Certify to deploy Skilled Technicians to attend mechanical related breakdowns on time to carry-out repair works with expected quality and approve that the equipment is functioning as per expected norms and also organize regular technical training for all Technicians to enhance their skill and thereby ensuring MTTR (Mean Time To Repair) & MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure)

5. Establish Tool Management System (TMS) to maintain 'Zero Defect Tools' in terms of tool geometry and surface finish to meet the quality and quantity demand of end products with the available resources
