Maintenance Fitter

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of printing and packaging machinery within our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on various machines such as flexo printing machines, rotogravure, laminators, slitters, die-cutting, and sealing machines. By diagnosing mechanical issues promptly and carrying out necessary repairs, you will help minimize production interruptions and enhance overall efficiency. You will be expected to perform routine inspections, replace defective components, troubleshoot mechanical faults, and provide suggestions for improving equipment performance. Additionally, ensuring proper alignment, lubrication, and calibration of machine parts will be essential to maintain optimal functionality. Your ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and machine manuals will aid in executing maintenance tasks effectively. Collaboration with the production team to resolve breakdown issues swiftly and maintaining an inventory of spare parts and tools will be part of your daily tasks. Adhering to safety guidelines and industry standards while working on machinery is imperative to ensure a secure work environment. Keeping accurate records of maintenance activities and reporting major issues to the supervisor will contribute to the overall efficiency of the maintenance operations. To qualify for this role, you should possess an ITI - Fitter certification or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Ideally, you should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in machine maintenance within the printing & packaging industry. Proficiency in hydraulics, pneumatics, gear systems, and conveyors is essential, along with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform welding, fitting, and fabrication work as needed. Knowledge of electrical and electronic controls in machinery will be advantageous. Hands-on experience with tools such as wrenches, calipers, micrometers, and measuring devices is required. Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work under pressure, and awareness of workplace safety protocols and preventive maintenance techniques are crucial for success in this role.
