Roles & Responsibilities:1. Clinical Responsibilities: · Conduct comprehensive eye examinations including vision testing, refraction, and slit-lamp evaluation. · Diagnose common visual problems such as myopia, hypermetropia, astigmatism, presbyopia, and assist in fitting of spectacles and contact lenses. · Manage vision screening camps and perform primary eye care services in coordination with ophthalmologists. · Educate patients about eye health, prevention of eye diseases, and proper use of optical devices. 2. Academic & Student Support (If in Educational Setup): · Assist in practical training sessions for optometry students. · Demonstrate clinical procedures such as retinoscopy, keratometry, tonometry, and visual field analysis. · Support students during OPD postings and community screening camps. · Maintain equipment, instruments, and student clinical logs. 3. Vision Center / Community Services: · Participate in outreach programs, school screenings, and awareness drives related to eye care. · Assist in maintaining patient records, prescriptions, and follow-up databases. · Coordinate with higher centers for referrals in case of advanced pathologies or surgeries. Key Skills & Attributes: · Sound clinical knowledge and optometry techniques. · Excellent communication and patient-handling skills. · Ability to work with ophthalmologists, faculty, and students. · Hands-on experience with optometric instruments and vision care tools. · Strong ethical standards and a patient-first approach.
