Magento 2 Backend Developer (Expert Level)

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Magento 2 Backend Developer with strong communication skills, hands-on expertise in module development, and the ability to solve complex technical problems. The ideal candidate must have deep understanding of Magento 2 architecture, PHP 8.4 coding standards, API development (REST & GraphQL), performance optimization, and Git workflows.

This role focuses primarily on building custom backend modules, including Admin Panel features using UI Components, and ensuring high-quality, maintainable, and optimized code.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, customize, and maintain Magento 2 backend modules.
  • Build and extend Admin Panel functionalities using Magento UI Components.
  • Work with Magento architecture (DI, plugins, observers, EAV, service contracts).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex Magento issues.
  • Develop REST & GraphQL APIs.
  • Integrate third‑party services and build scalable API endpoints.
  • Write structured, optimized PHP 8.4 code.
  • Optimize existing code for performance.
  • Work with Git, branching, pull requests, and code reviews.
  • Communicate effectively across teams.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 3–7+ years of Magento 2 backend development experience.
  • Deep understanding of Magento 2 structure and workflow.
  • Strong PHP 8.4, OOP, MVC knowledge.
  • Experience in custom module development using UI components.
  • Strong experience with REST & GraphQL API development.
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems.
  • Knowledge of MySQL, indexing, caching, cron, queues.
  • Proficiency with Git.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Good to Have (Optional)
  • Composer, Redis, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ.
  • Magento Marketplace module standards.
  • Basic CI/CD understanding.
