Job Description

About the Role: We are looking for a Logistics & Customs Clearance Specialist to manage and streamline customs clearance documentation, logistics coordination, and regulatory compliance for our international shipments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in handling import/export documentation, working with freight forwarders, and ensuring smooth customs processing. Key Responsibilities: Customs Clearance & Documentation: Prepare and manage all customs clearance documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and regulatory permits. Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and liaise with customs brokers to facilitate smooth clearance. Track shipment status and proactively resolve customs-related delays. Maintain accurate records of duties, tariffs, and clearance costs. Logistics Coordination: Work closely with freight forwarders, shipping carriers, and courier services (DHL, FedEx, UPS) to ensure timely deliveries. Manage international shipments, including cold chain logistics if required. Handle logistics-related inquiries and coordinate between vendors, internal teams, and regulatory authorities. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management: Stay updated on customs policies, tariffs, and trade regulations across different regions. Ensure all shipments comply with local and international trade laws. Work with legal and regulatory teams to obtain necessary permits for restricted goods. Operational Efficiency & Reporting: Maintain a logistics database to track shipments, customs clearances, and documentation. Identify process improvements to reduce clearance times and costs. Generate reports on customs-related expenses and shipment trends. Requirements: Retired Customs Officer (Preferred) Strong knowledge of import/export documentation, customs procedures, and international trade compliance. Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and regulatory agencies. Proficiency in handling shipments for regulated industries (e.g., clinical research, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics). Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills to coordinate with global teams and vendors. Proficiency in logistics management software and Excel. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in clinical research, pharmaceuticals, or FMCG sectors. Knowledge of HS codes, tariff classifications, and Incoterms.
