Underwriting Responsibilities:

• Underwrite loan applications based on the

  4 Cs of underwriting

  Credit, Capacity, Collateral, and Character.
• Ensure strict adherence to company, investor, and agency guidelines.
  
• Conduct

  income determination, asset assessment, credit analysis

  , and

  collateral evaluation

  using tax forms, pay stubs, bank statements, and credit reports.
• Perform

  county searches

  to identify any undisclosed liabilities.
• Serve as a

  point of contact for loan officers

  to resolve underwriting and documentation queries.
• Manage

  conforming loans (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac)

  and

  non-conforming loans (Jumbo, Bank Statement loans)

  .
• Audit and rework loans breaching guidelines to ensure saleability.
  
• Analyze

  appraisal, SSR, and title reports

  to identify and mitigate related risks.
• Handle high loan volumes within tight deadlines while maintaining quality and compliance.
  
• Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams to streamline processes.
  

Lock Desk Analyst Responsibilities:

• Manage

  rate locks and terms

  with multiple investors, including changes, extensions, and re-locks within defined timelines.
• Ensure

  zero errors in pricing commitments

  and maintain compliance with investor policies.
• Perform

  manual pricing calculations

  for complex loan scenarios.
• Register loans with investors and run AUS in Encompass for eligibility verification.
  
• Act as a

  liaison between investors and internal teams

  , ensuring smooth loan registration and processing.
• Support loan officers and processors with

  loan structuring and pricing queries

  .
• Conduct reconciliation of funded loans, ensuring adherence to

  fair lending policies

  and unit economics.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Graduate / Postgraduate in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  
• 3+ years of experience in

  mortgage underwriting

  and/or

  lock desk operations

  .
• Strong understanding of

  Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac

  , and

  non-conforming loan products

  .
• Proficient in

  Encompass LOS

  , AUS tools (DU/LP), and MS Excel.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and multitasking skills.
