Linux System Engineer

As an Infra Automation Engineer (Linux Engineer) at Graviton, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our Linux-based infrastructure. Working closely with the DevOps team, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of our trading systems. Your efforts will be instrumental in maintaining high availability and supporting the demands of high-speed trading. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, or other scripting languages to enhance system administration tasks and boost efficiency. - Administer and maintain Linux-based servers and systems to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security. - Conduct system installations, configurations, and upgrades, including kernel and software updates. - Monitor system performance and health, utilizing tools to analyze and address performance issues. - Optimize system configurations to meet the high-performance requirements of high-frequency trading applications. - Collaborate with the DevOps team to integrate and support CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and other DevOps practices. - Work closely with trading teams and other IT departments to address infrastructure needs and resolve issues effectively. Shift Schedule: 3:00 PM - 12:00 AM Qualifications: Functional Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience. - Minimum of 3 years of experience with Jenkins and Ansible. - Proven 3+ years of experience as a Linux System Administrator, preferably in a high-frequency trading or financial services environment. - Proficiency in Linux system administration, including system setup, maintenance, and security. - Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python for automation and process enhancement. - Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). - Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Nagios, Grafana, ELK stack) and performance tuning. Soft Skills: - Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, especially in high-pressure environments. - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders. - Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset. - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes trading environment.
