Job Summary We are seeking a Linux Service Owner with 15-20 years of experience in managing, optimizing, and securing Linux-based enterprise infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Unix/Linux administration, automation, scripting, system security, and performance optimization . This role involves end-to-end ownership of Linux services , ensuring stability, security, and continuous improvement through automation and best practices . Key Responsibilities: Architect, implement, and manage Linux-based infrastructure , including RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS , and other Unix-based operating systems. Ensure high availability, security, performance tuning, and capacity planning for mission-critical systems. Lead automation efforts using Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Python, and Bash scripting . Oversee system security, patch management, and compliance with regulatory frameworks. Develop and enforce best practices for Linux administration , configuration management, and monitoring. Manage backup, disaster recovery (DR), and high-availability (HA) solutions for Linux environments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Linux services with business applications. Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for streamlined provisioning and management. Drive incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and problem resolution to ensure system stability. Stay up to date with emerging Linux technologies, security trends, and automation frameworks . Manage disaster recovery and backup/resilience strategies . Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior engineers and support teams. Required Skills & Experience: 15-18 years of experience in Linux/Unix administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS, Solaris) . Expertise in automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform , and scripting with Python, PowerShell, and Bash . Strong knowledge of Linux security, authentication mechanisms, and compliance standards . Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) . Hands-on experience with monitoring tools, log analysis, and performance tuning . Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills in large-scale IT environments. Experience in CI/CD pipelines, DevOps methodologies , and cloud-based Linux environments . Ability to lead teams, drive service improvements, and collaborate with stakeholders . Excellent communication, documentation, and vendor management skills . Preferred Qualifications: RHCSA/RHCE, Solaris , or other Linux/Unix certifications . Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP) related to Linux infrastructure.
