Linux Database Administration

As a Database Administration - Linux professional with over 6 years of experience, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of Linux-based MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle databases and application servers. You must hold a B.E./B.Tech. (Computer / IT / Electronics) / MCA / M.Sc. Computer Science or equivalent degree from a recognized university, along with a certification in Linux Database Administration. Your key responsibilities will include: - Installation & Configuration: Setting up servers, installing database server software on Linux Platform with high availability solutions like Clustering, load balancing, and log-shipping of servers. Ensuring proper configuration of server parameters, operating systems administration, and tuning. Implementing & maintaining Mirroring/Log shipping as Backup/DR Solutions. - Administration & Troubleshooting: Managing databases on an ongoing basis to ensure smooth functioning. Conducting configuration reviews to provide tuning inputs for performance improvement. Managing database and patch upgrades with minimal downtime. Performing regular backups and recovery with appropriate permissions. - Routine Tasks: Using DBA tools for database creation and maintenance. Managing changes to database schema, disk space, storage, and user roles. Monitoring and tuning database performance regularly. Configuring & monitoring backups to support Business continuity. You should have extensive knowledge of Linux-based Database Servers, related/dependent OS services, and Web servers like IIS, Apache, and Tomcat for integration with Web/Application servers. Your expertise will contribute to the optimization and efficient functioning of database systems to meet business requirements effectively.,
