Job Description

Library Management & Operations

  • Maintain and update catalogues (physical and digital) of books, journals, periodicals, e-resources, and multimedia content.
  • Oversee the daily functioning of the libraries in PGDM, Hotel Management, and Nursing departments.
  • Ensure discipline and decorum within the library premises.

Academic Support

  • Assist faculty and students in locating and using educational and research resources.
  • Curate reading materials and references aligned with the curriculum of AICTE-approved PGDM, INC-aligned Nursing, and Hotel Management programs.
  • Facilitate inter-library loan and resource-sharing mechanisms where required.

Digital Resource Management

  • Manage library management software (e.g., Koha, SOUL, or equivalent).
  • Update and maintain the digital library portal and e-journal access tools (e.g., DELNET, NLIST, Shodhganga).
  • Promote awareness and usage of e-resources among students and faculty.

Inventory, Budget, and Procurement

  • Prepare annual library budget proposals and monitor expenditure.
  • Coordinate procurement of new books, periodicals, and digital subscriptions.
  • Conduct regular stock verification and weed out obsolete or damaged materials.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Maintain documentation and records as per statutory body requirements (AICTE, INC, UGC).
  • Generate monthly and annual reports on library usage, acquisitions, and activities.
  • Coordinate with IQAC and Academic Council for audit or accreditation support.

User Engagement & Development

  • Conduct orientation programs for new students on library usage.
  • Organize library awareness campaigns, book exhibitions, or reading events.
  • Encourage faculty and student research by supporting referencing, plagiarism checks, and citation guidance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Library & Information Science (MLIS) from a recognized university (NET preferred).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in an academic institution, preferably in a multi-disciplinary or multi-campus environment.
  • Familiarity with classification systems (DDC/UDC), library automation software, and digital resource management.

Skills Required:

  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Proficient in ICT tools, digital libraries, and e-resource platforms.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple libraries across diverse programs and academic needs.

  • High attention to detail and integrity in managing institutional assets.
  • Proactive attitude in keeping the library current and student-friendly.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
