Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and organize the school library in line with CBSE requirements.
• Maintain an updated catalogue of books, periodicals, digital resources, and reference material.
• Guide students and teachers in effective use of library resources.
• Promote reading culture through book clubs, reading sessions, exhibitions, and literary activities.
• Ensure proper issue and return of books, keeping accurate records.
• Maintain discipline and a conducive learning environment in the library.
• Integrate digital and e-learning resources for modern library practices.
• Assist teachers in providing relevant resource material for classroom teaching.
• Conduct library orientation for new students and staff.

Qualifications (as per CBSE guidelines):

• Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science (B.Lib.Sc.) or Post Graduate Degree in Library Science (M.Lib.Sc.) from a recognized university.
• Knowledge of library management software is desirable.
• Proficiency in English communication is preferred.

Essential Skills:

• Strong organizational and cataloguing skills.
• Passion for books and ability to instill reading habits in students.
• Familiarity with both print and digital resources.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to conduct literary and reading activities.

Experience:

• Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a Librarian in a CBSE/recognized school preferred.
• Freshers with the right qualifications may also apply.

Remuneration:

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, as per CBSE norms.
