The Corporate and Investment Banking division at DBS provides corporate clients with a comprehensive suite of commercial banking products and services, which includes cash management, current accounts, time deposits, trade finance, working capital finance, term loans, and foreign exchange facilities. Over the years, DBS has established strong and enduring relationships with its clientele in the region through a commitment to personalized account management, service excellence, innovative product offerings, and stringent credit standards. As a part of the Institutional Liabilities Business team in IBG 3, your primary responsibility will be to identify and acquire new-to-bank (NTB) clients, manage and nurture both new-to-bank and existing-to-bank (ETB) relationships, particularly with mid to large-sized companies. Key objectives include driving liabilities sales by onboarding NTB clients for various banking products and maintaining an average quarterly balance (AQB) target of INR 2 crore per account. Your role will involve originating new business from cash-rich segments such as multinational corporations (MNCs), global capability centers (GCCs), IT/ITES firms, knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) and business process outsourcing (BPO) centers, educational institutions, shipping and logistics companies, data centers, pharmaceutical research and development (R&D) firms, reinsurance brokers, export-import (EXIM) companies, e-commerce enterprises, digital startups, and financial technology (FinTech) companies. Additionally, you will be responsible for exploring opportunities in custody offerings, alternative investment funds (AIFs) categories, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs), foreign venture capital investors (FVCI), foreign direct investment (FDI) demat accounts, and building relationships with market intermediaries such as law firms, accounting firms, and consultancy companies to source merger and acquisition (M&A) and private equity/venture capital (PE/VC) deals. Collaborating with DBS's regional teams, you are expected to enhance cross-referral leads and leverage the bank's international corridors network. Your role will also involve supporting regional sales heads in implementing and executing the liabilities strategy, achieving revenue targets, and identifying key market segments based on client requirements. In terms of technical competencies, a sound understanding of transaction banking products, technology platforms, operational processes, regulatory guidelines, and KYC requirements is essential. Market knowledge and experience in the Mid-market / SME segment, with reference to appropriate Target Market for the Liability Segment would be preferable Education / Preferred Qualifications Preferably Postgraduate. (desirable CA and/or MBA -Marketing Finance). Core Competencies Good understanding of the sales process. Ability to open conversations with CXO’s. Sound knowledge of Cash management, FX and Trade, which are the key revenue drivers. Good technical knowledge of transaction banking business. Abreast of regulatory environment especially for FDI, ODI, Funds, FPI, AIF’s etc Good team worker and ability to work with internal product partners like GTS, T&M. Good customer and relationship management skills. Good interpersonal and communications skills. Good problem solving, planning & organising skills. Planning, scheduling and monitoring deliverables, within a stipulated time frame using effective methods Technical Competencies Basic understanding of transaction banking products and associated technology platforms and operational procedures Understanding of regulatory guidelines on banking issued by MAS and by RBI (local regulations in India) and local laws and regulations that impact businesses in general. Understanding of KYC requirements are critical.
