Legal, Data, Cyber & Privacy Law Attorney, Vice President

Role Overview: You will be joining the Technology Legal team at Goldman Sachs in either Singapore or Hong Kong office as a Legal, Data, Cyber & Privacy Law Attorney. Your main responsibility will be to provide legal advice on privacy, data governance, and cybersecurity issues in the APAC region. You will work closely with a global team of lawyers to ensure the firm's compliance with data protection laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities: - Provide legal advice to company affiliates in APAC and globally on privacy, data governance, and cybersecurity issues. - Review cyber and data exposure incidents and determine the need for regulatory notifications. Draft and submit notifications as required. - Advise colleagues in the Employment Law Group on employee privacy matters. - Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Risk colleagues on consumer and client-related privacy issues. - Assist in responding to data subject rights requests and conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments. - Review and enhance existing privacy policies and procedures. Draft new policies and procedures as needed. - Review and negotiate data protection terms in vendor agreements and confidentiality agreements. - Develop data protection training materials for various platforms. - Coordinate with global colleagues to ensure consistent data protection practices. - Stay updated on privacy and information security developments and advise on marketing-related privacy issues. - Play a key role in compliance readiness programs for new privacy laws and regulations. Qualifications Required: - Qualified lawyer with significant experience in privacy and data protection in APAC. - Experience in handling cyber and data exposure incidents. - Familiarity with data protection and cybersecurity regulations in APAC. - Strong leadership and project management skills. - Effective communicator and team player with experience in data protection training. - In-house experience at financial institution or relevant industry experience is a plus. - Additional experience in digital privacy matters and technology is beneficial. - Privacy Professional accreditation (e.g., CIPP/A) is advantageous.
