Lead Software Platform Engineer I

Role Overview: You will be a key leader in establishing and developing the Technology Center in India for MetLife, playing a crucial role in spreading the company culture, fostering a local team culture, and ensuring project delivery excellence. Your responsibilities will include developing strong technology capabilities, supporting an Agile way of working, and acting as a bridge between individuals and leadership. Key Responsibilities: - Develop strong technology capabilities to support EMEA agenda using Agile methodologies in the software delivery lifecycle. - Partner with internal business process owners, technical team members, and senior management throughout project life cycles. - Act as the primary point of contact for team members on well-being, interpersonal dynamics, and professional development. - Foster an inclusive team culture reflecting the company's values. - Support conflict resolution, encourage open communication, and escalate human-related challenges when needed. - Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and resolve delivery issues tied to team dynamics. - Stay connected with local operational teams to grasp business priorities and team-specific realities. - Assist new joiners in integrating into the team culturally and professionally. - Serve as a liaison between individuals and leadership, including in-country teams on people-related matters. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent. - Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks. - Strong problem-solving skills and experience with agile methodologies and CI/CD. - Ability to work in a team, communicate effectively, and exposure to conflict resolution practices. - Understanding of psychological safety, team health dynamics, diversity, equity, and inclusion principles. - Experience working across functions or cultures is a plus. - Prior experience in mentoring, team facilitation, coaching, or peer support roles is a plus.
