Job Description

You will be working as a Site Reliability Engineer on Qualys Cloud Platform & Middleware technologies alongside a team of engineers and architects. Your role will involve combining software development and systems engineering skills to build and maintain scalable, distributed, and fault-tolerant systems. **Key Responsibilities:** - Co-develop and participate in the full lifecycle development of cloud platform services by applying scientific principles. - Increase the effectiveness, reliability, and performance of cloud platform technologies through automation and evaluation. - Support the cloud platform team in system design, capacity planning, automation, monitoring, and alerting. - Maintain cloud platform technologies by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, performance, and system health. - Advise the team on improving system reliability and scalability based on requirements. - Support new features, services, and releases while taking ownership of the cloud platform technologies. - Develop tools for large-scale provisioning and deployment of cloud platform technologies. - Participate in on-call rotation, lead incident response, and conduct postmortem analysis reports. - Propose improvements in capacity planning, configuration management, scaling services, monitoring, alerting, and root cause analysis. **Qualifications Required:** - 3 years of experience in running distributed systems at scale in production. - Expertise in Java, Python, or Go. - Proficient in writing bash scripts. - Good understanding of SQL and NoSQL systems. - Knowledge of systems programming and network elements. - Skilled in identifying performance bottlenecks and root cause analysis. - Familiarity with JVM concepts and best practices related to security, performance, and disaster recovery. - BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Applied Math, or related field. If you have experience with managing large-scale deployments of search engines, message-oriented middleware, RDBMS systems, NoSQL databases, in-memory caching, container technologies, monitoring tools, Hashicorp technologies, configuration management tools, continuous integration, or deployment pipelines, it would be considered a bonus.,
