Lead Pre Contracts Services -India

Job duties

The role is responsible for all pre-contracting activities for securing new works; providing commercial and technical expertise in pre-contracting phase of business development; driving timely completion of tender related documentation in accordance with procurement and organizational guidelines with the objective of winning profitable work to sustain the business.

The role requires a strong technical knowledge of primarily building construction, high rise residential and commercial towers, retail and hospitality buildings and utility or factory structures. A strong knowledge of construction methodologies, modern building techniques, programming, 3D modelling, risk analysis, and the commercial impacts of contractual clauses is essential. The responsible should be able to clearly demonstrate the basis and assumptions of any bid proposal to internal management and external client in a convincing manner.

• Develop a strong pipeline of potential opportunities and maintain a healthy conversion ratio of prospects.
• Devise winning strategies and suitable project methodology to ensure pipeline will lead to a sustainable conversion ratio.
• Work with the relevant stakeholders to ensure delivery teams are available to work in pre-construction and then continue to work on the secured prospects.
• Work with engineering team and designers to develop smart and robust technical solutions which reduce risks and provide better value to the clients.
• Provide core resources for estimating and planning within preconstruction.
• Oversee development of the final proposal based on approved
• commercials and technical design; Monitor closely the process of coordination activities across different teams and review proposal to be in line with requirements.
• Identify JV Partners / Consultants with senior management as needed; Liaison with JV partners for commercial & technical aspects of proposals.
• Oversee adherence to client requirements during tendering process
• Liaise with Finance & Safety teams to secure approval on suitable incorporation of financial and safety requirements, respectively, in proposals.
• Verify all prospects follow the LAIO work procurement standards
• Oversee the timely approval process with LAIO for tender submission and contract signing

Job requirements

• Degree in Engineering
• 15+ years of experience in pre-contracting domain
• Knowledge of commercial processes
• Knowledge of proposal, estimation, planning etc.
• Knowledge of construction, civil engineering concepts
