Lead II - Product Architect - Python

As a Senior Architect at UST, your role involves leading the design and architecture of large-scale, cloud-native solutions using Python frameworks like Django or Flask. You will provide technical leadership, drive innovation, and enable product teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing systems. Collaborating closely with product, design, and engineering teams, you will define and implement modern architectural frameworks and best practices. **Key Responsibilities:** - Architect and design end-to-end solutions using Python frameworks such as Django or Flask, ensuring scalability and performance. - Lead technical strategy, architectural decisions, and technology selection for assigned products or initiatives. - Drive innovation and modernization by researching, evaluating, and integrating emerging technologies like GenAI, serverless, and microservices. - Develop proof-of-concepts (PoCs) and reusable libraries to accelerate product development. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between business goals and technical architecture. - Implement cloud-based architectures on AWS, Azure, or GCP, leveraging containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and event-driven models. - Optimize infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and ensure efficient CI/CD delivery pipelines. - Manage data design and storage strategies across ElasticSearch, RDBMS, and NoSQL systems. - Ensure high-quality code standards, security, and reliability across all deployed applications. - Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning. **Technical Skills & Expertise:** - Core Technologies: Python (Django, Flask), JavaScript/TypeScript (optional UI exposure). - Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP hands-on experience in solution design, integration, and optimization. - DevOps Tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins (or other CI/CD tools). - Data & Storage: ElasticSearch, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis. - Messaging & Processing: RabbitMQ, Celery, Kafka (preferred). - Architectural Patterns: Microservices, Serverless, Event-driven, API-first design. - Testing & Quality: Strong grasp of software testing methodologies, CI/CD practices, and performance tuning. - Agile & Delivery: Experience with Agile/Scrum environments, CSM/CSPO certification preferred. **Leadership & Consulting Responsibilities:** - Provide technical consulting and architectural guidance across business units. - Define and enforce architecture standards, ensuring alignment across distributed teams. - Identify and resolve systemic technical issues and architectural debt. - Evangelize best practices, tools, and reusable frameworks across engineering teams. - Lead technical due diligence, risk assessment, and feasibility studies for new initiatives. - Contribute to organizational capability building through training, mentoring, and thought leadership. **Performance Indicators:** - Successful delivery of high-availability, secure, and scalable solutions. - Reduction in technical debt and architecture vulnerabilities. - Improved development efficiency through reusable components and automation. - Mentorship impact skill growth within team members. - Adoption of innovative tools and frameworks across projects.
