Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Engineer to join our team specializing in the design and development of bus superstructures. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in passenger bus design, preferably with an OEM, and be proficient in using SolidWorks and CATIA software for 3D modelling and simulation.?

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and Development:

• Lead the design and development of bus superstructures, including structural components, frames, and body integration.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and OEM specifications.

1. CAD Modelling and Drafting:

• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and drawings using SolidWorks and CATIA.
• Perform design optimizations to enhance structural integrity and reduce weight while maintaining durability.

1. Collaboration and Coordination:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance, to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with external suppliers and stakeholders to source materials and components.

1. Technical Analysis:

• Conduct design reviews and structural analyses to validate the performance and safety of superstructure designs.
• Identify and resolve design issues through engineering solutions and innovative approaches.

1. Documentation and Reporting:

• Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including BOMs, technical specifications, and test reports.
• Maintain up-to-date project records and provide regular progress updates to management.

1. Mentoring and Leadership:

• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the design team.
• Take ownership of projects and ensure timely delivery of design outputs.

Required Qualifications:

• Education:

• Bachelor&aposs degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. A Masters degree is a plus.

• Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in automotive design, with a strong focus on passenger bus superstructures.
• Proven experience working with OEMs in the commercial vehicle sector.

• Technical Skills:

• Expertise in SolidWorks and CATIA software for 3D modelling, simulation, and drafting.
• Strong knowledge of materials, welding techniques, and manufacturing processes used in bus superstructure design.
• Understanding of industry standards, including CMVR, AIS, and global bus safety regulations.

• Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables under tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in CAD tools like SolidWorks.
• Hands-on experience with FEA tools for structural analysis.
• Knowledge of lightweight materials and sustainable design practices.
