Key Responsibilities: Design and Development: Lead the design and development of bus superstructures, Seat structure including structural components, frames and body integration. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and OEM specifications. CAD Modelling and Drafting: Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and drawings using Solid Works and CATIA. Perform design optimizations to enhance structural integrity and reduce weight while maintaining durability. Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance, to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability. Collaborate with external suppliers and stakeholders to source materials and components. Technical Analysis: Conduct design reviews and structural analyses to validate the performance and safety of superstructure designs. Identify and resolve design issues through engineering solutions and innovative approaches. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including BOMs, technical specifications, and test reports. Maintain up-to-date project records and provide regular progress updates to management. Mentoring and Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the design team. Take ownership of projects and ensure timely delivery of design outputs. Required Qualifications: Education: bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus. Experience: 10+ years of experience in automotive design, with a strong focus on passenger bus superstructures and seat structure development. Proven experience working with OEMs in the commercial vehicle sector. Technical Skills: Expertise in Solid Works and CATIA software for 3D modelling, simulation, and drafting. Strong knowledge of materials, welding techniques, and manufacturing processes used in bus superstructure design. Understanding of industry standards, including CMVR, AIS, and global bus safety regulations. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
